Questions
How do I find out who owns a domain?
Start with a WHOIS or RDAP lookup: it shows the registrar and dates, and sometimes the owner. Most personal details are now hidden for privacy, so professionals also use historical WHOIS, the site itself and other clues. See our guide on finding a domain's owner.
Is this domain check really free?
Yes. It uses public DNS and registry data and takes a few seconds. If you'd like us to identify and approach the owner, that's where our service begins.
Why doesn't the check show the owner's name?
Since 2018 most registrars hide owners' personal details. Identifying the real owner usually takes deeper research, which we do as part of an acquisition.
